There is no doubt that Horse Racing across the country does not get the media attention it deserves (sans the Triple Crown races). But what if the reporter has no idea what they are talking about?
That appears to be the case with CNN reporter Erin Burnett who held an interview with another CNN reporter about the “milkshaking” scandal surrounding Kentucky Derby and Preakness winning trainer Doug O’ Neill.
The headline read that O’Neill could be banned from the Belmont because of this, and trust me when I tell you, this was a comical interview involving this investigation. So comical that CNN pulled it off the Net. Thanks to Equidaily, here is the photo they posted about their article.
CHRB says not to worry about Triple Crown attempt.
With just a little research the two CNN reporters would have discovered this on the Daily Racing Form instead of just taking a wild guess.
“Last week, Mike Marten, a spokesman for the board, said that even if there is a penalty – and he does not know what the hearing officer has proposed, nor what the board will decide – the penalty would not interfere with O’Neill participating in the Belmont.”
Good Luck (in the Belmont) I’ll Have Another !
